Rites of Passage
Chiku Awali has four major program components.  Our dance program is known as Jo Ba Alafia, Dance for Well-being, in the Yoruba language.  Obibini Asafo literally translated from the Twi language of Ghana means the African Society which represents our African music department of drums, atentebens (African flutes), and gyle, an African xylophone.

Annually, Chiku Awali presents an African art project. For the past four years it has been mask-making.  The Rites of Passage for young men and the Eat Well, Play Hard project completes the roster of programs offered by Chiku Awali.
