TRIP TO DANCE AFRICA - BROOKLYN, NY
Chiku Awali has sponsored a trip to DanceAfrica in Brooklyn, NY every year since 2003.  DanceAfrica is a heritage and community celebration centered on the diverse dance forms of the African Diaspora held each Memorial Day weekend at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).  Included are live music and shows, a film series at BAM Rose Cinemas, master classes, a student-artist sculpture garden, education programs, and an outdoor bazaar.

We shop at the African bazaar and watch a wonderful African performance held at BAM.  We recommend joining us on the bus ride as there is very limited parking during this event.

Continue to check Upcoming Programs and Events under the Calendar section of this website for future trips.  All are welcome, but registration is on a first come first served basis and there is usually limited seating on the bus so be sure to register early.
